Snake Lovers

Our friends Tony and Jess have two Ball Pythons, Monty and Medusa. My children LOVE them! They beg Jess to take them out of the cage and Jarrett wants to watch them eat poor little innocent mice every time.
So, do I see us getting a snake in the future...? I would say yes, but Jim says "Heck NO!" Ha ha.

My mom has had Sophie for the last couple days for some Nani/Sophie time and she took her out to the lake house that she and Tommy are building. My mom emailed me these pictures today and they were too cute not to share with everyone.

Lydie's Date with Daddy

Once a month, either Jim or I, will take each kid out for a one on one date. Last week Jim got to take Lydia, so I got her all gussied for her date with Daddy.

She was so excited.
And then a plane flew over the house and she lost her train of thought.
Mmmmm Hmmmm.
Daddy had to tap into his girly side and think "What would a little girl want to do?" So he took her shopping at Claires! Good job Daddy! She picked out a little purple purse with a monkey on it and some pink Dora shades.
And then he took her to the park and gave her a sucker. By the expression on her face, I think that was her favorite part.

Port Aransas, Part 2/Jess

So, I pretty much just copy and pasted this entire thing from Jess' blog. She is an amazing photographer and she is HILARIOUS, so the captions are stolen too. Thanks Jess!

Sophie was worried about her "booboo" on her stomach and kept showing everyone, inevitably giving herself an atomic wedgie everytime. Hee hee.
This... was Grant the whole weekend. That boy did not care about a DANG thing. As a matter of fact, we would give him a snack and he would intentionally roll it in the sand before eating it. He looks like he has a five-o-clock shadow...
Like (Jess) said... doesn't care about a dang thing. The only caption for this picture is "Aahhhhhh..."
Soph running into the waves...
Lydie was the best at finding sheshells.
This is (Jess') faaavorite picture. If you don't know Lydie, she's the sweetest thing and the biggest Daddy's girl in the universe. Here she is pitching a fit because Daddy is taking Grant into the water and not her. See them in the back?
Cuuutest picture of Jim and the two youngest.
This is how (Tony and Jess) walk down the beach. Totally candid. It's just what (they) always do. LOL, yeah right.
The shark (Jess) caught on the boat. Yeah, it's a five footer.
Well... maybe the captain caught it, but if (Jess) was really trying, (she) totally would have gotten it.
Sad.
This was Jim's face most of the time on the boat. He probably should have gotten some sleep the night before and shouldn't have downed that giant hamburger and fries two minutes before the trip... he stayed strong, though. If he didn't, (Jess) wouldn't have been anywhere near him. So good job, Jim.
Jim helping Jarrett bait his hook.
Jarrett's so cute.
Tony holding the shark.
"Jarrett, hold onto the shark like Uncle Tony did and smile." This is what (she) got.

Thanks again Jess, you're great!

Labor Day at Zilker

Jim and I took the kids to Zilker park on labor day. It was hot but they still had a blast.
Lydia loves to play.
Sophie wasn't in a great mood, so it was hard for me to get pictures of her.
Lydia is so cute.
Sophie trying her best not to smile.
Grant found a soccer ball and that was all he wanted to play with.
Jim following Grant all over the play ground.
Lydia, my sweet girl.
Sophie, my miss sassy pants.
We can't wait to put Grant into soccer. What a little stud.
Lydia and Grant, looking about the same size now.
They love playing together.
Grant was so hot, but it didn't slow him down one bit.
All three of them playing with their little friend that they met.
Lydia watching the train go by.
"Who's been eating dirt!? Not me!"
LOL. I took this picture right after a bee flew into Jim's head, he started flinging his arms around and yelling. Look at Grant's expression... he thinks Daddy has lost it.
Sophie.
Lydia.
Sophie decided to be a sweet girl for a few minutes while Jim took the other kids to the restroom, so I got a good picture.
Getting ready to ride the train.
Grant's face as the train started moving.
Lydia was waving at everyone as we went by.
Grant kept screaming and pointing at EVERYTHING, he loved the train ride.
I had to tickle her to get a smile, but it worked!
Lydia asked me to take this picture of her.
The end.

Port Aransas, TX

We decided to take the kids to the beach the weekend before school started back up again, with our friends Tony and Jess, Casey and Jerry and their three kids, McKenna, Parker and Chloe. We got there late Friday night, camped on the beach, and then stayed all day Saturday. Saturday evening Jim and Jarrett went deep sea fishing (no pictures of that because... well, I wasn't there and Jim isn't a "picture taker.") Jarrett caught something, but it was too small to keep, but he got to see someone catch a five foot shark!

Parker and Jarrett help set up the fire when we first got there.

Grant trying to walk in the sand, poor guy just learned how to walk on solid ground, this was a challenge.

Nine!

Jarrett turned 9 on July 14th! He had his birthday party at the Life Time Fitness and invited all of his friends. They had so much fun that they didn't want it to end.

Here he is about to blow out his candles!
Eating his army cupcake.
Me with the birthday boy. I can't believe his is so big now.
Swimming with a few of his friends.
What a cutie.

Nani and Jarrett.
Jarrett with his Aunt Elizabeth and her fiancee, Mark.
Time to open presents!
I'm not sure what this is, but he was really happy to get it, lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JARRETT!!!
